ME3
A downloadable game
A lost pedometer-powered virtual world from 2008 is playable again.
ME3 is a faithful browser reconstruction of ME2 Universe, the online 3D world tied to the ME2 / My Electronic Double handheld pedometer toy from Irwin Toy / iToys. The original game let kids turn real-world activity into points and gems, then sync them by USB into a strange little island world. Then it shut down, vanished, and spent years as lost media.
This version was built from the recovered original files and cross-checked against World-1 footage from bjiru's playthrough, after bjiru surfaced the online game client and coremaze reverse-engineered the old USB protocol and rebuilt the server side. ME3 is not a modern remake trying to sand everything smooth. It is playable preservation: odd scale, early-2000s browser-world energy, vehicle hopping, island roaming, and racing intact.
You can explore the island on foot, jump into about a dozen vehicles, find courses, and race around the reconstructed world. It is still in beta, but the core loop is here: drive, explore, discover what survived, and feel out the shape of a game that almost disappeared completely.
